A Wisconsin man has been found guilty in the murder of his newborn daughter, Harper. This happened four years ago, when Logan Kruckenberg Anderson was just sixteen. He took his hours-old baby into the freezing woods, placed her in a hollow tree, and walked away. When he heard her crying because she was still alive, he took out a gun and shot her twice in the head.
He returned home and told his girlfriend that he had taken the baby to a better home. He told police they had found someone on Snapchat to take the child to an adoption agency. None of it was true.
Investigators later found two bullets in the snow near where Harper’s body was discovered. When confronted with evidence, he finally confessed to what he did.
In court this week, Harper’s mother broke down as the guilty verdict was read. The jury deliberated for barely two hours. Sentencing is set for March sixteenth of next year and he faces a mandatory life sentence.
Her name was Harper. She never had a chance.
