Roberto Manuel Hinojosa arrested as he killed Anthony Joseph Sarmiento.
LAREDO, TX — 24-year-old Roberto Manuel Hinojosa, a person of interest and later a suspect in Laredo’s 8th murder of 2025, has turned himself in to Laredo Police.
The deadly shooting incident happened near North Meadow Ave at Ay Carbon taco restaurant parking lot, where Hinojosa allegedly shot 35-year-old Anthony Joseph Sarmiento and a 41-year-old Eric Sotelo. Ultimately, Sarmiento succumbed to the injuries.
There were 21 evidence markers placed at the scene as detectives continued their interviews with witnesses in the now-classified homicide case.
Hinojosa has been booked and transported to Webb County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
