Brian Kromke has been fired from New Hanover County Schools after his Facebook post
The New Hanover County Board of Education has cut ties with their attorney after an “inappropriate” comment posted on Facebook.
Board chair Pete Wildeboer announced at the start of the Board of Education agenda review meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 27 that Brian Kromke, an attorney with Crossley McIntosh Collier Hanley & Edes, P.L.L.C., is no longer representing the school board.
“Every student is important to us,” Wildeboer said after the meeting. “We just thought it was the right thing to do – to dissolve ourselves from working with him.”
The decision was made due to a comment Kromke left on a statement issued by former Gov. Roy Cooper on Facebook about the fatal ICE shooting in Minneapolis.
