Quinton Owens identified as the suspect who was beating up a child at Barron branch apartments in Waco


The Waco Police Department is investigating after a video on #Facebook shows “a horrendous assault” of a three-year-old boy by a grown man The suspect is currently in police custody after turning himself in, according to Waco PD.

Friday, January 16, at around 5:30 PM, a witness called Waco PD officers to The Legend Apartments off Corporation Parkway, near Bagby Ave. and Loop 340. 

“Officers located video doorbell footage of the suspect violently beating the 3-year-old boy,” the Waco PD said.

In the video you can hear the child crying and the man asking him “are you going to stop playing?” As he pulls him up by the neck/chin.

The three-year-old was taken to the hospital, doctors are evaluating him for injuries he may have. 

The suspect and three-year-old know each other, according to police. Right now, the department’s Crimes Against Children Detectives are investigating.

“We do not take these investigations lightly and are committed to a full and thorough investigation of this crime,” Waco PD said.

Waco PD did not share the suspect’s name.
